Why show a dog???? The short answer to that question is that we want to better the breed. Through evaluation by professional judges, we get to know the strengths and weakness of our breed. We can then plan our breeding's to minimize the weakness and enhance our strengths. Because this breed is not recognized through the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) or the American Kennel Club (AKC), we show our dogs through the North American Kennel Club (NAKC) and through the International All Breed Club of America (IABCA). I always try and seek out the judges thoughts about our breed, what they see and ask how can we improve.
Although winnings is exciting, the main purpose in showing your dog should
be to get the judges evaluation. This can help a breeder decided whether to use the dog in their breeding program.
